“Where there is no vision, people get out of hand," says one of my favorite Hebrew proverbs. The phrase “get out of hand,” in the Hebrew language refers to hair that is hanging loose without a turban, or in modern terms, a “head-wrap” or a “wave-cap
.” Have you ever seen how a woman's hair looks in the morning after she has gone to bed without wrapping or rolling it? Regardless of her attempt the next morning to style it, it goes in all kinds of directions, doing whatever it wants to do. It looks like it needs conditioner, a retouch, and a miracle!
In the same way, your life without a vision or dream is like hair without a head-wrap- it is all over the place. It’s messy, it’s not cute; it’s out of control; and, it's in need of a miracle. Without vision, your life is all over the place.
On the contrary, life with vision is like hair that has had a head-wrap the night before. It is controlled, it is contained, it is trained, and it is going in the same direction. Life with vision is like hair with a head-wrap or a wave cap. The hair is wavy, going in the same direction. Vision gives you focus, it gives you direction, it gives you hope.
