Today was a very long, but very rewarding, day.  I spoke three times for an hour and a half each time, to three groups of educators, counselors, and administrators in La Salle-Peru, Ottawa, Metamora.  Each time I poured my heart out, and each time, the response was amazing!

After I was done speaking, someone asked me how I keep meaning what I say every time I speak.  I said it's not that hard to mean it for me, because the things I talk about are so near and dear to my heart.  Whenever I talk about the young man who was sobbing in a bathroom, who said that he was planning on going home that night to kill himself, but changed his mind after hearing me speak, "because you have given me a reason to live, Mr. Scott." Whenever I think about that young man, and what might have happened to him had I not spoken at his school that day, I get emotional.  I gave someone hope. I gave someone a reason to live.  That never gets old!

Here's a video testimonial from Patrick Durley, a Regional Office of Education Leader. Thanks for reading (and watching).
