Every few months, I try to visit a prison or a juvenile detention center in order to try to encourage, challenge, and empower the young people there to make the most of their time behind bars.  I recently visited the St. Charles Juvenile Detention Center in Illinois, where Ms. Rita Adamitas and her team so hospitably allowed me to spend time with the young men there. Some were in there for having done thingsthat cannot be undone, ever.  Many of them had very hardened exteriors. But underneath it all were smart, funny, and very strong young men. Here's a short video of me reflecting on the experience.
